Barcode control
The BFW module 'barcode control' allows you to use a machine to read product data from a barcode. The machine must be equipped with a scanner. The scanner reads the barcode and sends the product data to the machine. An important advantage of the barcode is that manual errors are prevented. Furthermore, the barcode can also be used with other machines that are equipped with a barcode scanner.
Flexible solution
Many machines that are used for the production of loose reinforcement are able to process a production assignment by means of scanning a barcode. The use of a barcode is the most flexible solution, seeing as it is often unknown which machine is going to produce which reinforcement. The labels can easily be exchanged between machines. Rush assignments can directly be scanned and processed. BFW uses the PDF417 barcode. Modern straightening machines and stirrup benders are able to process the PDF417 barcode format. A lot of wire bending machine with double bending head are also compatible with the PDF417 barcodes.
Possibilities
BFW offers several ways to print a barcode:
- For each position: Each label is listed with a barcode. The label also includes the machines that can be used for scanning the code.
- Per prefab element: Every prefab position has a barcode. This label is printed at A6 size. The advantage of this solution is that no separate position labels need to be printed. Everything runs through the prefab element.
Quality of label = quality of print
Depending on the type of material used for the label, the barcode can be printed in larger or smaller sizes. If the material is completely smooth (instead of rough), the barcode can be printed in a smaller format. Special materials for laser or thermal transfer printers ensure the highest quality print.
